FAQ’s:

How do I retrieve my eCard

Upon completion of the class you will receive an email at the email address you have provided from ecards@heart.org with a link to claim your eCard.

Full instructions can be found at eCard Instructions.

I have not received an online keycode from EdCor for a BLS Renewal checkoff?

Please check your email and junk mail folders for an email from “Keys” or “Keys@aha.org” with a subject line of “BLS for Healthcare Providers Online Part 1 – “Request for Participation”

  • Did you pay the $50 deposit to EdCor?
EdCor purchases these keycodes from the American Heart Association (AHA) in advance. EdCor cannot register the link to the keycode until the $50 deposit is received.
  • Did you request a BLS Renewal with an ACLS or PALS course?
Please make sure that you indicated a BLS Renewal during your registration for the ACLS or PALS course. If you didn’t indicate this during the registration process, EdCor is unaware of your need for BLS Renewal and will not send a keycode. Please call EdCor (303-997-8695) and request that a BLS Renewal be added to your ACLS or PALS registration.
PLEASE NOTE THAT BLS RENEWAL IS NOT AVAILABLE TO AVISTA, ST. ANTHONY NORTH OR PENROSE EMPLOYEES WITH THESE CLASSES.
  • If none of the above solves the dilemma, please call EdCor at 303-997-8695 during standard business hours and so that our associates may assist you.

MY BLS KEYCODE IS NOT WORKING?

  • The keycode needs to be used within 30 days of issuance. If you received the keycode email and did not use it within that time frame call EdCor (303-997-8695) to request the keycode to be extended. There is no charge for a new keycode if it expired due to non-usage.
  • After completing the online keycode you have 60 days to complete the checkoff.

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A BOOK?

  • AHA courses: A current book is required for each student in BLS, ACLS and PALS courses, but IS NOT included in the course price as most affiliation contracts do not pay for the book. If you are renewing your class you may already have the current book. Books are available for purchase through the EdCor website during the class registration process and will be mailed to each student upon receipt of book payment. If you are not taking one of our classes, but would like to order a BLS, ACLS or PALS book, please call EdCor at 303-997-8695.

AHA books are also available via Worldpoint at www.worldpoint.com and Channing Bete at http://www.channing-bete.com.

Note: American Heart Association is updating their books starting 2/15/2016. If you are taking a class after this date, you will need to have a current version of the book for the class.

  • ENA courses: A current book is required for each student in TNCC and ENPC courses. Per ENA requirements, the cost of the book IS included in the course price and will be mailed to each student upon receipt of deposit or full course payment.
  • EKG courses: A current book is required for each student. A Basic EKG book IS included in the course price and will be distributed on the first day of the class.
  • American Academy of Pediatrics (NRP) Courses: American Academy of Pediatrics Courses (NRP) – A current book is required for each student and must be ordered from the American Academy of Pediatrics www.aap.org website.

Can I get CEU’s for EdCor Classes?

  • AHA courses: EdCor does not offer continuing education units (CEUs) for BLS, ACLS and PALS. If you require CEUs or CME credit for a specialty area, you may copy your card and record the class in the “MISC” category on your specialty application. AHA recommends 6.5 hours for ACLS and PALS Reverification (1 day) courses and 12 hours for ACLS and PALS Provider (2 day) courses.
  • ENA courses: CEUs are offered by the ENA for TNCC (14.42 CEUs) and ENPC (16 CEUs) Provider (2 day) courses. The CEUs will be listed on your certification card.
  • EKG courses: Neither EdCor nor AHA offer CEUs for EKG classes. You can make a copy of your completion certificate and attach it to the specialty CEU form for your application/renewal. The class is 12 hours in length.

How can I access the pretest for an upcoming class?

  • Links to the course pretests can be found on the EdCor website (www.edcor.net) under the “Pre-Course Tests” tab.
  • The code word for the AHA test is in the ACLS or PALS manuals on page the bottom of the first page in the book (ii). You can also access it from the website that is listed in the book,www.heart.org cstudent, and enter the code word as listed in the manual. We are not allowed to list the code word because a book is required for the class and the code word is in the book.
  • The pre-tests for ENA classes (TNCC and ENPC) may be downloaded and printed. The answers for these pre-course tests will be provided during the class.

Why do I need to pay a deposit if my employer is paying for the class?

  • EdCor follows AHA and ENA mandatory guidelines for student/instructor ratios and instructors are scheduled based upon the number of registered students. EdCor’s contracted facilities pay after the class and will not reimburse EdCor for late cancellation or no shows and instead have approved the collection of a refundable deposit to ensure student attendance.
  • If you cancel or reschedule in less time than our cancellation policy of 48 hours of your registered class start time or do not show up to the class without any notification, EdCor will retain you deposit to account for the unused registration slot. This policy was agreed upon by EdCor’s contracted facilities and hospitals.

When will my AHA Card be Sent ?

Your BLS, ACLS and/or PALS card should be mailed to you within two weeks of the course date if you are receiving a paper card. If you are receiving a eCard you should receive an email within two weeks with your eCard ID to be able to claim you certificate.

Issues that may delay your card delivery are:

  • If you are responsible for full payment for your certification, full payment is required to receive your card. (Please note that Centura facilities will no longer pay for courses if your card is expired.)
  • You did not provide your employee number during registration if you work for a Centura or a Health One facility.
  • If you do not work for Centura, Swedish or Kaiser, EdCor requires a billing contact at your facility and approval to bill the facility for your certification. Alternately, you may pay the bill and have your facility reimburse you directly for the certification. A paid invoice will be emailed to you upon receipt of payment that may be used for this purpose.
  • AHA requires a pre-test for ACLS and PALS Reverification (1 day) classes. If you did not turn in a pre-test to the course director on the day of the class, you will have to send or fax a copy to EdCor immediately after the class. (Fax: 303-993-4378).

When will my deposit be returned?

  • If you paid for the deposit on your credit card and the class is within 25 days EdCor only holds the deposit amount as a pending charge, after the class the charge will be cancelled. If the class is more than 25 days out, EdCor will issue a refund for the deposit amount when the class has completed. This will appear on your credit card statement/online account. If you do not see it has been returned within 10 business days after the class (approximately 2 weeks), please call EdCor (303-997-8695) or email (edcor@comcast.net).
  • If you paid with a check, then the uncashed check will be returned to you in the mail. If you do not receive it, please call EdCor (303-997-8695) or email (edcor@comcast.net).

Where can I view my classes and check my account

From the EdCor website (www.edcor.net), you can log into your account by clicking the “My Account” button.

What aspects of my account can I manage?
Once you are logged in, you can:

  • View your past and future registered classes
  • Download class information letters
  • Edit your contact and affiliation/employer information
  • Change your password
  • Enroll in new classes
  • Pay deposits or process full payment for classes
  • Manage your account balances

I don’t remember my username and/or password. How can I log in?

  • Most usernames are the email address that you registered with in the previous system. To reset your password, please click on the “Forgot your password?” link to reset your password. An email will be sent to your registered email address with instructions on how to reset your password. Once this is done, you should be able to log in.
  • If you have further difficulties logging in, please call EdCor (303-997-8695) for further assistance.

How do I make sure that my facility’s corporate discount is applied to my class?

  • EdCor’s corporate customer facilities have negotiated class prices with EdCor. In order to receive the appropriate negotiated price, the system requires that a student “select affiliation” with the customer. When prompted to “select an affiliation” in your account, please click on the link and select the appropriate affiliation.
  • If you have changed jobs from one corporate affiliate to another, you can update your affiliation within your account by clicking on the “Affiliations” tab along the black status bar at the lower portion of your account screen.

My employer pays for my class, but when I view my account it shows that I have an outstanding balance. Why is this?

  • For corporate billed students, EdCor bills your employer after the class completion, so the account balance does not reflect the corporate payment. If you have any questions please call EdCor at 303-997-8695.

I want to pay for an invoice, How should I do this?

If you are paying for a class or an item (book, keycode) that is related to a class for which you are registered, log into your account and make a payment within your account.

If you are paying for an item (book, keycode) NOT related to a class for which you are registered, please click the “Pay Online” button on the EdCor home page and pay there. Also send an email to edcor@comcast.net or call 303.997.8695 to arrange delivery of the item.

Why does my BLS card no longer say “BLS for HealthCare Providers”

AHA released the new BLS (2015 guidelines) in February of 2016. The new card now states “BLS” instead of “BLS for HealthCare Providers”.

The AHA issued a statements that says, “The new BLS Course replaces the BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS HCP) and BLS for Prehospital Providers (BLS PHP) courses”.
