AHA Instructor Courses
Interested in becoming a BLS, ACLS or PALS instructor? Already an instructor and looking for someone to teach classes for?
Instructor certification courses are available for several course types.

Instructor certifications allows the student to teach the applicable course in a variety of settings to include in their existing workplace, as an independent instructor, and within the community.

Transfers for AHA Disciplines (BLS, ACLS, PALS)

This entire process allows a maximum of three months from the date of meeting with Tammy.

  • A fee of  $75.00 may be implemented if monitoring is done at a non-EdCor facility for BLS.
  • A fee of $125.00  may be implemented if monitoring is done at a non-EdCor Facility for ACLS and PALS.
  • A fee of  $75.00  may be implemented if a renewal course is needed for your discipline.

You will be able to teach either as your own training site, with another training site, or under EdCor’s Training Site upon completion of the below steps.

  1. Call EdCor to set up a meeting with Tammy at 303.997.8695.
  2. Before meeting, align yourself with EdCor on AHA site
  3. Before meeting, complete the Transfer Request and the Instructor Candidate Application Forms.
  4. Attend meeting.
    • Bring the Instructor Candidate Application to the meeting.
    • Bring your current instructor card to meeting
    • Please come with a current schedule. Student teaching courses that will be monitored by EdCor will be set up during this time.
    • If a renewal class ($75.00is needed for your discipline, this class will be set up and completed before you can complete other steps .
  5. Attend student teaching courses
    • For BLS, one class will be required to be monitored.
    • For ACLS and PALS, one provider class will be required to be monitored and one renewal class will be required to be monitored.
    • If you wish to have your own class (non-EdCor Training Site class) monitored, then there will be a $75 fee per class for BLS
    • If you wish to have your own class (non-EdCor Training Site class) monitored, then there will be a $125.00 fee per class for ACLS and PALS.
  6. Upon completion of steps 1.-5., you will be certified in that particular discipline to teach as an instructor. NOTE: This does not certify ACLS and PALS as Course Director.

New (Have Never Taught) AHA BLS Instructor

  • This course can be taught by anyone including lay persons and medical professionals that is certified in BLS. If you are not certified, please register and complete a BLS Classroom Course before registering for a BLS Instructor course. This is EdCor’s policy.
  • This process allows a maximum time of three months from the date of the Instructor class to be completed.
  • You will receive a physical instructor card upon completion of this course that is valid for two years.
  • The price for the BLS Instructor course is $225 and a fee of $75 dollars will be charged in Student Teaching classes are done at a non-EdCor Training Site facility.
  1. Register for a BLS Instructor course (this is a $225.00 course)
  2. Complete the Instructor Candidate.
  3. Once you receive or pick up your Instructor Package
    • Watch the BLS video.
    • Put the Instructor Manual in notebook.
    • Read through the Instructor Workbook.
  4. Attend course. Please bring the following
    • Instructor Candidate Application
    • Current BLS card
    • Instructor Manual
    • Instructor Workbook
    • A laptop is necessary to complete instructor for this course.
    • Current schedule to schedule Student Teaching Dates.
  5. Set up monitoring dates after Instructor class is completed on the same day with Tammy.
    • At least one course must be monitored by EdCor that you will teach as a student teacher.
    • If you wish to have your own class (non-EdCor Training Site class) monitored, then there will be a $75 fee per class.
  6. Upon completion of Student Teaching and acceptance, you will need to wait a maximum of one week for EdCor to process your certification.
  7. Upon completion of steps 1.-6., you will be certified to teach BLS through your own training site or through EdCor’s Training Site.

New (Have Never Taught) AHA ACLS or PALS Instructor

  • This course can be taught by any medical professionals that is certified in ACLS or PALS, accordingly. If you are not certified, please register and complete a ACLS or PALS Provider Course before registering for an ACLS or a PALS Instructor course.
  • This process allows a maximum time of three months from the date of the Instructor class to be completed.
  • You will receive a physical instructor card upon completion of this course that is valid for two years.
  • The price for the ACLS or PALS Instructor course is $225 and a fee of $125 dollars will be charged in Student Teaching classes are done at a non-EdCor Training Site facility.
  1. Register for a PALS or an ACLS Instructor course (this is a $225 course)
  2. Complete the Instructor Candidate.
  3. Once you receive or pick up your Instructor Manual
    • Put the Instructor Manual in notebook.
    • Read through the Instructor Workbook.
  4. Attend course. Please bring the following
    • Instructor Candidate Application
    • Current ACLS or PALS card
    • Instructor Manual
    • Instructor Workbook
    • A laptop is necessary to complete alignment under EdCor or another training site.
    • Current schedule to schedule Student Teaching Dates.
  5. Set up monitoring dates after Instructor class is completed on the same day with Tammy.
    • At least one provider course and one renewal course must be monitored by EdCor that you will teach as a student teacher.
    • If you wish to have your own class (non-EdCor Training Site class) monitored, then there will be a $75 fee per class.
  6. Upon completion of Student Teaching and acceptance, you will need to wait a maximum of one week for EdCor to process your certification.
  7. Upon completion of steps 1.-6., you will be certified to teach PALS or ACLS through your own training site or through EdCor’s Training Site. Note: this does not mean you will be a Course Director.
